This text provides an introduction to the art of Aubrey Beardsley, with illustrations of many of his drawings, from his early schoolboy works such as the "Morte d'Arthur" and the "Yellow Book", to his last designs for Volpone and Mademoiselle de Maupin. It is suitable for children as well as adults. Lesser known illustrations include a detail from his "Procession of Joan of Arc" and his portraits of Verdi and Zola. There are also drawings in Beardsley's style, by Starr Wood and Will Bradley. The book features a plan of 1880s' Brighton, with the location of Beardsley buildings. The bibliography includes 19th century periodicals.
