For a long time Ruth Roberts was afraid of horses. Having lost her mom at the age of two, she was afraid of the world as well. Limited, struggling, yet yearning for change, she drove across the country to a spiritual retreat, where she had an unexpected thought: she needed to overcome her fear of horses. With few connections to anyone from the horse world Ruth asked for guidance from the spiritual world. Doors opened; her travels began. In workshop-based interactions with horses Ruth began to move through her fear. A film she watched about a new way to relate to horses led to a meeting with the filmmaker, Stormy May, which in turn led to a whirlwind trip to a Horse Welfare conference in Poland and time spent with wild horses. From there Ruth traveled to Norway to visit artist Tina Mareen Buddeberg, caregiver to some lively Icelandic Horses, and onto France to enjoy the free-roaming Merens horses. Through the people and horses she meets, Ruth faces her fear and finds her way to a place of love for all beings.
