Age of Wonders II: The Wizard's Throne is the sequel to the critically acclaimed Age of Wonders. Gamers take on the role of a wizard named Merlin, as they embark on an exhilarating adventure in a fantasy world. The story begins when fireballs from a group of dragons attack Merlin's airship. Eventually the ship crashes, leaving Merlin in a strange new land. At this point, gamers meet the character, Gabriel, who reveals information about the spheres of magic-air, water, earth, fire, life, and death. The wizards that control these spheres are at war and it will be up to gamers to unite the Circle of Wizards with their magical powers, and ultimately take the wizard's throne. During their quest, players will encounter dangerous missions, vicious battles, and fierce foes. The media is commending the game for its crystal clear sound, realistic detail for characters, creatures, and backgrounds, and the 3D particle effects used in various spells and abilities.
