This series introduces early readers to the people who work at school and to the main events in the school year. It has two levels of text, one designed for new readers and another for more advanced readers. This book is about the work of the school nurse at a primary school. It looks at the tasks she performs and explains her contact with the children and the tests she does with them, checking ears and eyes and making sure that they are fit and healthy. Diana Bentley, the reading consultant for the series is author of "The How and Why of Readability" and "The How and Why of Cloze Proceedure". She is also a consultant for Ginn Reading 360: 9-13 and is a language consultant to the ITV "Once upon a Time" programme.
