Transforming Culture examines the phenomena and process of immigrant integration through the lenses of literature, spatial analysis, networking and creation of transnational identities. Integration has been taking place for centuries as evidenced by cross pollination of ideas and customs. However, most research about immigrant integration focuses solely on the labor market. How immigrants settle, communicate, help each other, view themselves as well as interact with natives of the host society better inform policy choices as we discover that integration works two ways. The cultural friction that occurs when different peoples come into contact change both creating a new kind of society.
