I don't read memoirs very often but I enjoyed reading Ryan's memoir as he reflected on his past of alcoholism, drugs, incarceration and relationship struggles. It was eye-opening in a sense that you think that struggles like these, all rolled in one, only happens in the movies but people do experience it in reality. I also found Ryan's style of writing to be very accessible, like he's telling his story to you face to face. His up and down experiences and his journey to sobriety and a better life was an interesting read and a reader can learn a lot from his experiences.
