The book is divided into five chapters, covering the main elements of Revolutionary and Napoleonic warfare: infantry, cavalry, generalship, artillery and siege warfare and naval combat. Each chapter features four battles to demonstrate the strengths, pitfalls and characteristics of the style of warfare.
