THE WINDOW and BED SKETCHBOOK comes in the same format as the other sketchbooks. The pages are filled with simple black lines illustrations which show every detail of the design clearly. Firstly there are pages of poles, pelmets, valances and CURTAIN HEADINGS - then on the left hand pages you will find simply sketched BASIC curtains showing you exactly how the curtain falls when using that particular heading - on the right hand pages there are some VARIATIONS ........ it's very easy to follow. The middle section shows the use of TRIMMINGS (passementerie) - it works the same way as the first part of the book. We have taken a particular trimming and put it on to a curtain on the left pages and shown some VARIATIONS on the following page. Remember, you can often 'save the day' by adding a trimming here and there - and it does add a professional touch to your curtains and soft furnishings. Finally, the last section of this book shows many sketches of BEDS - from four posters to day-beds, hammocks and even a bed in a wig-wam! There are plenty of ideas for children's beds and simple tips to 'jazz up' your old bed by adding a new headboard or perhaps by buying some new BED LINEN and a pile of new cushions. I'm sure you will find this book a great source of information when you are looking for new ideas to make your home look wonderful. As with my other books the sketches are simply drawn with no colouring - you can colour them yourself, of course, if it helps you make some decisions!
