This is one volume in the Moonstones series for 8 to 12 year olds. Each story has an element of mystery or adventure, with a strong storyline, and is suitable for the multi-cultural classroom. Bernie and her mother have inherited Great Aunt's second-hand clothes shop in a small country town. The eccentric Miss Wensip, Aunt Addie's former shop assistant and apparent childhood friend, soon introduces herself. While out exploring, Bernie experiences a ghostly sensation near a disused railway line. As Bernie's empathy with the aged Miss Wensip grows, she gradually solves the mystery of the noises in the attic, and of the ghostly train.
