I am much happier with this book than the first two. Definitely a huge improvement, and it included more about Meg's black smithing. The mystery is brought to the forefront more than the first book, like it was in the second. This book was more about Meg and Micheal than her crazy family, which is a nice change. They are good characters and seem more fleshed out than before, even if they don't dominate this book like they did previously. This cozy mystery is much more like a cozy mystery now. I'm starting to like Meg more now that she isn't being a complete doormat for her family. I feel much better continuing the series now and hope that the books continue to get better, or at least don't backslide.
