This book demonstrates how to program in Turbo BASIC and create finished programs that can be used or sold commercially. The emphasis is on the use of advanced control statements to produce well structured modular programs that reduce both programming time and the number of residual bugs. Each chapter includes example programs taken from a range of application areas. Although games techniques are discussed in the chapter on graphics, the main part of the book is concerned with more 'serious' applications such as file handling, database and writing the sort of small utility program that can get the user out of difficult situations. Topics covered include: programing with Turbo BASIC; control statements; building programs; graphics; advanced control; using files; getting at DOS; producing professional programs. A feature of this book is the emphasis on expanding programing skills through fully explained example programs.
