In a piecemeal world made up of fragments, allusions and suggestions, Eva Marisaldi directs the eye to the less conspicuous details and aspects of reality. The artist (born in Bologna in 1966) investigates the conventions that govern communication and language, and the rules that influence individual behaviour, social roles and interpersonal relationships. In her work, adopting an almost anthropological approach, she seeks to reveal what is concealed behind conventions and what coded language fails to disclose.
