This handbook is designed to enable either the Technology Co-ordinator, or heads of subjects to plan and develop an integrated cross-curricular programme to satisfy the IT requirements of the National Curriculum and to stimulate interest and understanding in pupils at all levels of ability. Examples of schemes of work and projects in technology, science, mathematics, geography, history and English are related to the five recommended areas of study - communicating information, handling information, modelling, measurement and control and investigating IT applications and effects. IT activities are delineated in flow chart form to demonstrate how they relate to the most recent Attainment Targets. Particular attention is paid to useful ways of ensuring pupil progression from Key Stage 3 to Key Stage 4.
