Sue Passmore is well-known as a maritime historian (Welsh Sail and Farmers & Figureheads) and in recent years has turned her attention with equal zest to the countryside. In 2010 her Llanllwchaearn: a parish history was published. Despite being crammed with original research, it is also a great read with its racy chapters on the historical background and she has now followed this up with a history of the neighbouring parish of Llanina and the township of Cytblwyf. Like Llanllwchaearn, this book, with its comprehensive Gazetteer of farms and smallholdings, will be an invaluable resource for family historians.
