This work deals with a particular fracture-mechanics parameter, (DKth), known as the "threshold stress intensity range" or "fatigue threshold". It is also concerned, on a more general level, with high-cycle "limits" to fatigue in materials, whether these are expressed in terms of the old standard fatigue limit, the LEFM parameters or other, more recent, variants.
