Alex is a werewolf and meets his mate, Jessica. Jessica is his sister Marissa's dance teacher. When she meets Alex for the first time, there is instant attraction, but she has no idea that werewolves exist. Six months of dating passes and Alex is still trying to find the best way to let Jessica know what's up. In the meantime, Jessica has noticed that she is being followed and has been receiving cryptic calls telling her not to marry Alex. Does she decide to tell Alex? Nope, because she is used to doing everything herself. Does she tell him after a botched kidnap attempt and she gets injured trying to escape? Nope, because now he'll be mad she didn't say anything in the first place.
Jess frustrated me many times during this story. Alex was clueless and didn't take the proper precautions to protect Jess, IMO. Jess's reaction to Alex being a werewolf was not realistic and I was expecting some kind of negative emotion. It was no surprise who the bad guy(s) were and this just added to the overall predictability of this book.
That being said, I'm going to attempt to read the next in the series as I always give an author a two book try. She has a story in the Howl anthology that is part of this series, but if I don't like the next book, I won't read that one.
