Amongst the witnesses to the Apparition at Knock on the 21st August 1879 were three children, the youngest of whom was John Curry who was five and a half years old at the time. He was the youngest of all the witnesses. When John grew up, he left Ireland to work in England and in New York City, U.S.A. where he eventually died. Having spent the greater part of his life outside of Ireland, he was, to a certain extent forgotten about in his own country. Recently, his Grand-nephew, also John Curry, spent much time and effort in researching the visionary's life and times and now the fruits of his labours can be seen in a new booklet entitled "John Curry - (1874 - 1943) - Youngest Visionary of the Apparition at Knock". It contains interesting history of Knock Parish where John lived as a child, of his emigrant years and of his appearance before the New York Tribunal in 1937 which was a part of the Second Commission of Enquiry relating to the Apparition at Knock.
