This is the true account of an English television documentary director's attempt to take part in a Combined Services Expedition to climb Mount Everest in 1988. The book outlines his preparations for the climb and his experiences on the mountain, both climbing and filming a series of television programmes. Mark Anderson has directed numerous documentaries for the BBC and ITV, including "Marek" (winner of an EMMY in 1975), "Circuit Eleven Miami" (winner of the BAFTA Award for Best Documentary Series, 1980) and "Apartheid" (winner of the Broadcasting Press Guild Award, 1987).
