This is a superbly illustrated overview of the Jackson Pollock. It is an inspired work of artist Gabriele Di Matteo. Inspired by the Jackson Pollock Exhibition at the National Museum of Modern Art, Centre Pompidou in Paris in 1982, artist Gabriele Di Matteo has taken over seventy illustrations from the original catalogue and put them through his radical reproduction process to form a stunning exhibition currently on show at the Federico Luger Gallery, Milan. Taking photos that portray Pollock in various moments throughout his life, Di Matteo has 'translated' and 'transformed' them into paintings and portraits in a delicate act that pushes the boundaries of reproduction to the limits - documents have been rewritten, pictures re-photographed and enlarged, to form a homage to Pollock.
