A Geography of Queensland examines the different regions and environments of Queensland and how these have changed over time. The Great Barrier Reef, the Daintree Rainforest and many more natural wonders are explored and problems relating to Queensland's growing population and popularity as a tourist destination are considered, such as the conflict between people, culture and the natural environment. Throughout the text, the key areas of social and environmental issues are examined as they relate to aspects of geography, and the case is put for careful management of the area. The book analyses systems and issues within a State framework to deliberately increase student awareness of Queensland as well as an understanding of the geographic systems operating in Queensland which can then be applied to other regions.
