Volume I: Translated and edited, with notes and an introduction. The first edition of the Commentarii appeared in Vienna in 1549, but it is not clear which edition was used for this translation. Volume II: Appendix of documents, translated and in part collected by Richard Eden and printed from the 1577 edition of his History of Travayle in the West and East Indies, revised by Richard Willes. The supplementary material consists of the 1851 annual report. This is a new print-on-demand hardback edition of the volumes first published in 1851 and 1852.
