It's been a long time since I sat down and actually read a book without feeling rushed to finish it or anything of the sort and it's even better that the book was insanely fun as well.

I didn't actually expect she'll write a sequel to Loot but damn I'm definitely not complaining, I loved the twists and turns she added in this one concerning March and Jules's family with the new heist and of course the new cursed gems they have to deal with. Yes, she reused the whole curse gem thing but in this one those gems and their curse weren't the focus, but the kids themselves and how they have to deal with the new situations they were put in with twists and turns at every corner. While reading he book there were two times where I was actually really surprised, either because someone appeared or something actually happened that I didn't expect it to.

One of the best parts of this book to me was the story of how the gems actually left Ransome's estate, you get to hear a few different tellings of the same story until the end where you actually hear the real one. Of course this move if you will isn't novel but the way it was done here gave it a sense of mystery and intrigue that just raised my interest in it, add the creepiness this curse brought into the story and it sucked me in even more. Seeing the effect this story had on the twins made the whole thing even better, not everything is as it seems and it's about time the kids learned to be their own people without trying to be someone else.

That right there is what this book focused on and why even though she reused the cursed gems angle she still managed to give it a different feel than the first one. This is of course without mentioning the blood pumping situations that showcase Jules being a badass acrobat, March being a genius planner, Izzy being a whiz kid and of course Darius who is there to have their back regardless of him being MIA a bit in the story lol. While this is entertaining to watch, it also makes the adults around them look incompetent a bit until they meet the villains but tbh it didn't make the story any less entertaining to read for me.

The lack of romance is the final major plus side to me, which is probably thanks to it being aimed to a younger generation lol. Regardless if she's ever writing more then I'll definitely be reading them, not sure how sh'll do it given what happened here but meh I'll still read it if it exists.
