REVIEW.
So, this is the first book in the Emerge series, and so far there is only a novella released after this one and I have no idea if there will be a second book. And, to be honest, I do not really care..

The description of this book sounded quite interesting and I was curious what kind of supernatural creatures they would turn out to be. In the end, that was the only thing that kept me reading as far as 25%, because I did not like this book at all.

Normally, I check some reviews on the book before I request it, and this book had a lot of positive reviews ! Like, after some searching I only found one negative review.. and it turns out, I completely agree with that one ! I just don’t get how it got so many positive recommendations.

In Dutch, we have this saying: “Van de hak op de tak springen”, I don’t know if there is a saying about this in English, but it means that someone (or in this case the story) is constantly straying from one subject to the other, talking about all kind of things which don’t connect to each other at all. Which is exactly the right way to describe this story.
We go from one moment to the other without any connection. One moment she is here, the next she is over there.. without anything to connect it together.

I found that very confusing and had a lot of “Wtf is happening!?!?” moments. Everything is just there in a moment and is just doesn’t make any sense or I don’t know how they got there to begin with ?

The same with the characters, all of the sudden she has best friends and two guys who are both fighting for her.. and I just don’t know how they got there or how it happened ? They are just there all of the sudden and best of friends.. Very weird and confusing. And well, I just don’t like reading a book like that.

FINAL THOUGHTS.
This book is not for me, I find this way of writing very annoying and I’m more confused about what is happening instead of following the plot. Because everything just happens out of nowhere I got no connection at all with any of the characters or the story itself. I really dislike giving another bad rating so soon, but I cannot give this book more than 1 Freyja and I cannot recommend this book to anyone.
