In conjunction with Save the Children, this series investigates the needs of children in both developed and developing countries. This book looks at the provision of health care throughout the world and examines the efforts of individual countries to help their own people lead healthy lives. By asking the question "How healthy is our world?" it aims to provoke thought and stimulation among young readers. The author highlights reasons for hope, in the form of better primary health care and improved programmes of health education, but stresses that, until underlying problems such as inadequate sanitation, poor diet and environmental pollution are solved, many people all over the world will continue to suffer from poor health. Edwina Connor is currently editor of "Linx", Save The Children's magazine for younger people.
