Volume I comprises two parts: Modes of Inquiry and Theorizing Politics and Society. The seven essays in the first section, Modes of Inquiry, reflect the changing methods of inquiry the authors have used over a period of time. The eight essays in the second section, Theorizing Politics and Society, were written over a period of 40 years, from 1961 to 2001.
