Cynthia Moss has spent 13 years in the Amboseli National Park in Kenya, and is currently Director of their Elephant Research Project. She has constantly observed one particular family of elephants, and this book details objectively, yet movingly, all aspects of their behaviour. It covers their births, deaths, mating habits, migration, life cycles and social organization. The author has published numerous scientific papers on this subject, written for magazines such as "Nature" and had her work produced on film in the USA.
