Written Calculation comprises six Pupil Books, six Answer Books, a Teacher's Guide and a Teacher's Resource Book and uses methods recommended in the National Curriculum. Designed for use at Key Stage 2, each Pupil Book uses 18 carefully structured steps to guide the learner towards full mastery of each written method, supporting them in their national tests and other areas of the National Curriculum. Written Calculation also helps pupils develop confidence and fluency in their learning by practising and embedding place value, number facts and problem solving skills. The importance of estimating and checking answers is also emphasised. This Teacher's Resource Book contains supplementary, photocopiable resources to help you integrate Written Calculation within your school. The questions contained within this Teacher's Resource Book, correspond to the steps in each of the Pupil Books, offering opportunities for pupils to further develop their conceptual understanding of written calculation. These questions are ideal for further practice, revision or homework. Answers are provided at the back of this book.
Key features include: Further practice questions - up to ten questions per step, conveniently presented to allow addition practice of either one or two steps at a time; Problem solving questions - a variety of 12 problem solving word problems per book, similar to the style of question found in the 'Problem solving' section of each Pupil Book.
