Hiro tells Shuichi that he is jealous of Eiri (most likely because he's in love with Ayaka), but Shuichi mistakenly assumes that Hiro is in love with 'him'. More importantly, Hiro drops the bomb and tells Shuichi that he is disenchanted with N-G Records' way of business and that he wants to quit Bad Luck! Eiri seems to be psychologically unstable - he's become more emotionally honest, but he's obviously not the same Eiri. Still, he and Shuichi share an intense relationship. Partly because of Eiri's 'coming out' on national TV, Bad Luck's records have hit the top of the charts. But Seguchi and Sakano must do something about Hiro in order for Bad Luck to continue their - well-good luck. Shuichi tries to convince Hiro to come back, but is unsuccessful. Meanwhile, K and Sakano persuade Shuichi to accept Suguru as his new partner - since he trained under Seguchi, his skills are an identical copy of his famous relative. At their latest concert, Shuichi is ordered to announce Hiro's departure, but says instead that he will form a trio with Suguru and get Hiro back no matter what.
Meanwhile, Hiro decides to return when Ayaka offers to go on a date with him if he and Shuichi can go platinum. The whole scheme was planned by Eiri and Yuji, however, in an effort by the former to get Shuichi off his back, and by the latter because he cares for his younger brother. Shuichi and Hiro and Suguru make an appearance on a radio show, when they are crashed by Noriko, Tetsuya, and Ryuichi, who announce that they have gone platinum - meaning that Shuichi can get his date with Eiri, and Hiro can get his date with Ayaka! Eiri, who has been visiting a psychiatrist and receiving prescription drugs, suddenly vomits blood and is taken to the hospital by Seguchi. While at the hospital, Mika throws a fit - she is angry with Seguchi for being so insensitive to Eiri's condition and letting his relationship with Shuichi turn into a media circus, causing him unbearable stress. She mentions that he and Shuichi should break up, and Eiri appears to agree. Shuichi overhears Eiri talking about moving to New York, but when he confronts him later, Eiri promises not to leave. Shuichi is emotionally distraught, but is comforted by Eiri's words.
Meanwhile, however, Seguchi seems intent on breaking up Shuichi and Eiri, for whatever reason. Now that Bad Luck has gone platinum, Eiri honors his promise to Shuichi, and they prepare for their date at Tokyo Disneyland. K will be their escort, and he vows to make this a day they will always remember.
