Successful single camera operators must have the knowledge and ability to undertake a variety of tasks traditionally associated with a multi-camera crew. They must be skilled in lighting, composition and framing as well as audio and editing techniques. This text introduces the problems of location lighting for single camera operators and provides insight into the technology and techniques required to solve these problems. The approach is of a basic and introductory nature, geared towards student and trainee cameramen.
