This is the journal of our 'trip of a lifetime' to Canada. We went from cosmopolitan Vancouver to the flaming autumn colours of Nova Scotia to get the best chance of experiencing the great variety of population, architecture and geography. Netta wanted to see Toronto and the Niagara Falls. James could not resist a weekly dose of culture and a glacier or two. We both wanted to see the scenery of the 'inner passage' and the world famous Burchart Gardens were a must. Unexpected highlights included an encounter with bears and visits to museums. We also loved the surreal architecture in Toronto. Dare one mention the night spent in Klondike Kate's brothel Medical problems also added to the sense of adventure! We hired cars on the east and west coasts and had an amazing four-day trip on the Trans Canada Railway, an adventure in itself that led to an experience which shows that fact is stranger than fiction. Canada is vast, but the world, despite its size, is smaller than you think.
