This is another case for the unique investigator Gideon Oliver. Thirty years previously, young hunters in Peru for Hevea seeds were stalked and ambushed by Chayacuro Indians who used their poisoned blowgun darts to deadly effect. Only Arden Scofield, then a Harvard graduate student in ethnobotany, survived. Now Professor Scofield has organised an Ecuadorian project with its true motives shrouded in mystery. Also on the Amazonian cruise lines vessel are the famous 'Skeleton Detective,' professor of physical anthropology Gideon Oliver, John Lau an FBI agent and Assistant Professor Margaret Gray.
