The book's title (and subtitle) and blurb suggest that what the reader holds in their hands is a genuine pop-psychology or 'self-help' book designed to present a new perspective on the implications of stress on the human experience. However, the book is actually nothing of the sort - instead, it contains only blank pages because there are no health benefits to be gained from suffering stress. The point is to very briefly create confusion, replaced by entertainment and humor as the reader quickly understands what they hold in their hands and that they have been 'duped'. The adage that you should 'never judge a book by its cover' has never been truer with this volume, and works as a visual joke. Unlike other humor books, the great thing about this is that it is a visual joke and thus immediately funny. The joke is apparent the second they flick through the book. The 'serious' blurb on the back only reinforces the initial set-up of the joke, but the title serves this purpose on its own. Use as a Notebook.
