I had this book recommended to me. I really tried to get through it, and I hung on for the first 2/3 of the book with little to nothing happening. The last 1/3 of the book lost me, and I really struggled to finish it. It seemed like nothing really happened. Just not my style of sci-fi, I suppose.
Okay, so this definitely has a good bit of ableism and sexism throughout, but I can't deny that I had trouble putting it down. I could fully imagine the world and its technology, and I liked that it wasn't over-explained. The plot moved along at a quick pace, and it brought up some philosophical questions that will stick with me. An exciting page-turner with just enough weird to make for some really satisfying sci-fi.
