I guess it goes to show something was learned from my childhood since I cannot read this book without singing in my head. ...Zacchaeus was a wee little man, a wee little man was he...
The time during which our children are pouring over early readers, trying again and again to get the words pronounced just right is important. What type of books will you choose? We are going to have some cute ones they grab again and again, but also I plan to have on hand several that will reinforce God 's story and grace. Combining the Made by God I Can Read! books with Bible stories from Crystal Bowman makes me very happy about whet we are reading again and again.
Level 1 I Can Read! Early Readers are for the beginning reader filled with simple sentences for eager new readers. This one even includes phonetic pronunciation for our main character Zacchaeus. Follow him through his regular days and then watch as his life changes when he meets Jesus Christ. A great conversation starter with your early reader. One for our homeschool shelf, but appropriate for any emergent reader.
Thanks to Zondervan for providing a copy for review.
