This study of a resettled Qeto village in Ethiopia covers the concept of resettlement and the 1984-85 famine, going on to describe the daily life of the people, the way in which they adjusted to resettlement and how they maintained their links with far-flung relatives and friends. The village which was chosen for the study, named "Fruits of Struggle", was suitable for three reasons - it was near a suitable comparitor site, being a "conventional" site whereas the comparitor was an "integrated" one; the diversity of languge, religion and area of origin of the people was of particular interest; and it was a site in which all the resettlement types could be found and also hosted the largest settler population (43%).
