From the writer/director of the cult science fiction heavy metal feature film, 'Sons of Steel' is the first book in the epic series of the reluctant time traveller 'Black Alice'.

Tough as an old pair of leather Cuban heeled boots with a take-no-prisoners attitude, famous heavy metal singer and leader of the Octagon Peace Movement, Black Alice, is the voice of the people of this dystopian realm. Branded a dissident by the government, the Secret Police learn the Octagon will stage a demonstration against a US nuclear submarine that will arrive in Sydney harbour. Fearing riots, the President orders Alice eliminated. The SS solicit government scientist Secta to dupe Alice into having a hologram made of him. Secta conspires to dematerialise him into digital bits to be permanently lost in the ether. The ruse succeeds and Alice vanishes. However, in a twist of fate, he is accidentally freed from his digital prison 200 years into a post apocalyptic future. Trapped in the subterranean remains of Sydney, he fights for survival against mutant beasts, unearthly monsters and blood thirsty barbaric warlords in a desperate bid to discover why his world had been annihilated.
