The "Foundation History" series provides simplified versions of the five Core Study Units for use with less able pupils at Key Stage 3. In each full-colour book, the text, written sources and questions have been reduced and simplified to meet the needs of lower ability pupils. Otherwise, the books follow the same structure as their counterparts in the "Heinemann History Study Units" series, allowing both series to be used together for a wide range of abilities. This book balances an overview with analysis of specific World War II themes including resistance movements and the Holocaust. Accounts of the post-war settlement, origins of the UN and refugees are also provided.
