I read this book for a book club in under a month, and I was a little skeptical about this book because I was not sure how I would feel about it. I did not know much about Mindy Kaling before reading this book, but I really did love this book. I loved everything about this book to the stories that she told, and her writing style throughout the book. This was a very fun read, and I am so happy that this was the first book that was picked for the book club.
This is what I was hoping for when I read [b:The Nerdist Way: How to Reach the Next Level|10723227|The Nerdist Way How to Reach the Next Level (In Real Life)|Chris Hardwick|http://d.gr-assets.com/books/1327905067s/10723227.jpg|15633919] last week - just a funny person with nerdy qualities being funny. This isn't a memoir, exactly, although she does talk about her childhood and how she ended up working on The Office. It's sweet when she talks about her best friends and hilarious when she gets exasperated with John Cougar Mellencamp for singing about how life peaks in high school. Even if you aren't a fan of The Office (I stopped watching a couple seasons ago), Mindy's book is a great burst of joy for your bookshelf.
