Charles Lampert is a retired financial services executive. His love for science fiction began in third grade when his grandfather bought him a Tom Swift, Jr. book. By fifth grade, He was reading classic authors like Robert Heinlein, A. E. van Vogt, Edmond Hamilton, Arthur C. Clarke, and Isaac Asimov. He majored in Economics at the University of Pennsylvania while taking numerous English Literature classes. In his 40s, Charles enrolled as an MFA Creative and Professional Writing candidate at William Paterson University, but circumstances and professional responsibilities left him a few credits short. During that time, he had four poems published in literary journals, including the Worchester Review. In October 2023, He began writing The Time Engineers after finding chapters he had written 5 years prior. Charles completed the novel in April 2024 and in August 2024, self-published The Time Engineers on Amazon as an eBook. Charles is married with two grown children, two grandchildren and five grand-cats, and lives in Northern NJ. When he is not writing, he and his wife enjoy traveling, hiking, jazz and classic rock, puttering around the garden, and sports of all kinds. He has numerous writing projects; his most current WIP is a strikingly original Fantasy/Magical Realism novel titled Infinity's Avatar based on eastern religions and philosophies, which will publish next year.
