Harauld Hughes (1931-2006) was a playwright, poet, screenwriter and badminton ambassador, best known for the plays Platform, Roast and Roost. He was awarded the Euripides Prize for short-form drama, the Goethe Garter, and was one of the first writers-in-residence at Costa Coffee, albeit in an unofficial capacity.
