Author Monica Vaughn-Flam brings a rich tapestry of experiences to her storytelling. Born in the heart of New York City, she found her true home in the vibrant city of New Orleans. Having earned her Master of Education from Johns Hopkins University, she has dedicated her career to English as a Second Language (ESL) education. In this, her first book, she brings her passion for language, education, and diverse experiences to create a magical world for young readers. Inspired by joyous moments during Mardi Gras parades, she wrote The Wheels on the Floats as a tribute to her daughter and their shared love for New Orleans.
Courtney Strickland is a Georgia native who completed her BFA in illustration at Savannah College of Art and Design, Atlanta. She specializes in book, advertising, and ornamental illustration. Past projects have included coloring books and map design for the Children's Museum of Atlanta. Her diverse talents include acapella singing, and she helps run a professional wrestling company based outside Atlanta.
