Rebekka Strand taught herself to read English by reading Harry Potter. She was six. Born in Norway in 1992, Rebekka grew up among frozen hills and hot stews. She learned to build fires in school and cross-country skied on the weekends. Then, she found skateboarding and, through it, her husband. After graduating with an M.D. in Behavior Analysis, she moved to San Diego, California. Surrounded by sand, palm trees, and spicy foods, Rebekka found the contrasts inspiring. Unable to leave and unable to work, she had too much time on her hands. And so, stuck in a foreign land, she began writing her debut, Shattered Ice.
