Odessa is a Lieutenant Colonel in the Army National Guard. She currently serves as the Battalion Commander for the 230th Special Troops Battalion in the Tennessee Army National Guard. She is the first African American female to serve in that position in Tennessee's 227-year history. She is married with three children.
