DJ Whipple grew up in Western Pennsylvania, the son of a factory worker who sang opera and a nurse who loved to paint. He wrote his first play when he was eight, Bill Took a Pill, which he produced in the garage with neighborhood kids in the cast. He lives with his Hungarian wife, Gabriella, in rural Northern Virginia. DJ and his daughter, LA Whipple, coauthored their debut novel.
