Ray Sproule has a Ph.D. in Mathematics from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. He has been writing fiction since the age of seventeen. His influences range from Kurt Vonnegut, Ray Bradbury, and Martin Cruz Smith to Nabokov and Dostoevsky. His first book, The Paranoian, was published in 2022, his second, Femme Devereux, in 2023. He was born in Montreal and raised two sons as a single parent. He lives on Vancouver Island, B.C., and enjoys traveling, mountaineering, chess, karate, and reading.
