J. C. Tyrone is a fourth-generation emergency responder who worked in the Emergency Medical Services for twenty-three years, becoming an EMT while still in high school. She later served as a paramedic in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Colorado. While working nights on the ambulance, she completed an MFA in playwriting and has written plays that have been produced by theaters and festivals across the United States.
