Throughout a legal career that spans more than six decades, Anthony V. Curto handled hundreds of high-profile cases and represented many prominent individuals, from celebrities and media personalities to renowned artists, writers and entrepreneurs. As a partner in several major New York law firms, Mr. Curto's work centered on structuring and negotiating complex transactions, often with creative, ground-breaking solutions for his clients. His years of legal practice exposed the major problems afflicting America's court system: cases taking too long, costing too much, and often resulting in unfair conclusions. He distilled these observations and insights in his first book, The Time for Justice, which presents a sharp critique of the nation's civil justice system-and dozens of ways to fix it.

While practicing law, Mr. Curto spent many years as a competitive sailor. He designed, built and captained the winning yacht at the International Midget Ocean Racing Club (MORC) 1975 World Championship, and subsequently was navigator for the winning boat at the 1977 MORC World Championship. He also served as Commodore of the Midget Ocean Racing Club and produced the film, "Lightning," for the International Lightning Class Association.

A lifelong advocate of community service, Anthony V. Curto has received numerous awards for his active role in supporting his community, including the 1984 Congressional Achievement Award and the 1987 Martin Luther King "Living the Dream" Service Award. He's also served on the boards or as counsel to numerous non-profit and community organizations and was Vice President of the New York State Council for the Arts.

Today, he lives in Northport, New York with his wife Linda.
