Yanti Turang is an Australian-Indonesian ER nurse, the founder of international health non-profit LearnToLive, and a global adventurer. After school, her travels eventually took her to New Orleans, where she formed a rock band with friends. Shortly after they recorded their first album in Joshua Tree, New Orleans was ravaged by Hurricane Katrina, and Turang's life changed course. She retrained as a nurse in Melbourne, returned to New Orleans, and launched LearnToLive, servicing patients across Asia and Africa. Turang has also treated Ebola patients in Sierra Leone, aided tsunami survivors in Indonesia, and helped establish and run a COVID-19 hospital in New Orleans.
