Lisa Lessi's passion for baking began early in her childhood, when she was only six years old. She continued to bake throughout her life and often made treats with her two children when they were young. In an effort to become a better baker, she attended classes at the Long Island Culinary Academy in Syosset, New York, and received her pastry chef certification. When she is not writing or playing with her clumber spaniel, Duke, Lisa is in the kitchen making sweets and confections for family and friends.
