Aruna M. Lepore, born on the Caribbean island of Trinidad, co-directed a family business for several years. She earned her MBA from the University of Florida in 2003, and in 2009 she put the corporate world on hold when she became a mother. She is now pursuing her passion of writing and illustrating for children. She currently lives in Maryland with her husband, two young children who enjoy her storytelling, and two South African cats.
